Top condenders for this years awards are two South African films, "Of Good araeport" and "The Forgotten Kingdom". These movies showed dominance on the academy's nomination list relaesed last month.
Nominees this year include: Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, for the movie " Accident", Clarion Chukwura, "Apaye", Kanayo O. Kanyo, "Apaye", Uche Jombo, "Lagos Cougar".
In my own opinion, the Africa Magic Views Chioce Awards, AMVCA"s has kind of overshadowed the AMMA's therefore, the organizers of the AMMA's need to re-brand the awards, else it goes into extinction.
BNC Wants Attempt on UNIBEN VC's Life Probed
A socio-cultural organization, in Benin called the Benin National Congress (BNC), has called on security agents to investigate the alleged attempt on the life of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Osayuki Oshodin.
The group said they would not give free hand to discreet poison-killers and blood suckers to overwhelm a patrotic administrator like Prof. Oshodin, whose tenure is synonymous with landmark achievements.
According to vanguard Nigeria, the VC who has been suffering from complications from eating poisoned food, is currently responding to treatment.
I wish the Prof. Oshodin speedy recovery, because this man has changed Uniben to a standard university and the staff and students love him.
Boko Haram Targets Vigilantes, Kill 30
Boko Haram is now targeting vigilante group members in Borno State, killling about 30 in separate attacks on at least two villages in Borno State.
Attacked were Morofo in Marte local government area where about 25 were killed and Kinmi in Biu Local government area.
The Boko Haram attacks appered to be a reprisal on the vigilante group following the recent killing of about 70 Boko Haram members by the vigilante groups.
Residents from the affected areas say the insurgents came in a convoy, gathered the men together and accused them of beign memebers of the vigilante groups then killed them all. They also burnt all the shops in the market leaving the people destitute.
Seriously, our government needs to do all it can to contain these Boko Haram insurgents because the number one duty of any government is to protect the lives and properties of its citizens.
